December 2013 marks FTTF 16th month of patient service. In total we have supported 12 patients and fully sponsored (monthly financial support) 6 patients/families. We have distributed nearly $10,000 funds to those sponsored and distributed nearly 50 "Fight Bags" to local clinics. We have managed multiple meal calendars, distributed multiple "Fight Blankets" and have spent countless time in fellowship with our patients. Our initial goal for sponsorship was to max out at 5 patients sponsored per month and January 1st 2014, we will reach this goal! We will officially have 5 patients full time along with meal calendars for at least 3 of those.
It is quite exciting to bare witness to the work that FTTF is doing in the lives of patients and families. Incredible relationships have been established and support systems strengthened. Faith's renewed and financial support given. Volunteers and board members continue to report how much even they are impacted by the patients we serve. Each month as we check in on our patients progress, we are amazed at the strength they possess and the drive they have to fight their disease's. Many will live on chemo for the duration, others will have to learn to live with the effects of harsh and cruel (yet necessary) treatments. We understand that survivorship then becomes the new norm. Supporting patients even beyond the acute phase of treatment will certainly be a developing goal for FTTF.
Additionally, each month I am continually humbled and honored by the financial and volunteer support that this organization continues to receive. Apparently God continues to provide and doors continue to open. We are so very grateful to those who continue to support our mission and allow us to impact the lives of patients battling breast and gyn cancer. A Special Thank YOU to Clear Creek Community Church GoOp leaders and small groups for your interest and investments into our patients. We are so grateful to be a part of such a service driven community.
